USB Over Ethernet Connector Publisher's Description
USB over Ethernet Connector makes it possible to work with network-connected USB devices located anywhere in the world. When you use the software to connect a USB port over Ethernet, it provides the same level of functionality you would obtain with a direct physical connection to the attached equipment. It offers a cross-platform solution that can be run and share devices on Windows, Mac, and Linux computers. You just need to install USB over Ethernet Connector on the server which has the physical connection to the device and the client which will access it over the network. Once communication is established, the shared peripheral will act as if it were directly connected to the client. It's a complete software solution that does not require any extra hardware to provide connectivity.
Another benefit of USB over Ethernet Connector is that it allows users in virtual environments to access USB peripherals that are attached to the host computer. This functionality is not natively available in most virtual sessions and adds value to your enterprise USB devices. Per-session isolation is supported so that a user in a specific Remote Desktop (RDP) session can have exclusive access to a connected USB device.
USB devices can be accessed on a variety of virtualization platforms including Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenDesktop, Windows Virtual PC, and VMware ESX. The guest operating systems get full control over devices connected to the physical host computer. Working with local USB devices in a virtual session is a simple matter of installing USB over Ethernet Connector on the host machine and the virtual operating system. Through OEM licensing, you can use the USB virtualization technology in your software projects to give users additional functionality and enable them to access USB devices remotely.
